IFA Berlin ran from 4 to 8 September 2026 at Messe Berlin. The event opened the second-half consumer-electronics calendar, ahead of GITEX, electronica Munich and the winter US shows.
The fair remains Europe’s main public-and-trade hybrid for appliances, home entertainment and connected living. It also serves as a media week for brands that want market attention before the January shows in Las Vegas.
Timing before the retail season
For organizers, the Berlin date has a clear commercial position. It follows summer factory shutdowns and comes before Christmas retail, giving exhibitors a point to present products and buyers a chance to review planned stock.
IFA also faces competition from tighter national electronics weeks in Asia. Its role therefore extends beyond the exhibition halls: the event provides an early reference for products that may later be restaged at GITEX Global in Dubai and electronica in Munich.
Buyers and journalists use the halls for that first look, while brands gain a European setting for announcements across Electronics, Consumer Goods and Home Appliances. The format keeps IFA relevant to international trade shows and exhibitions despite a crowded global calendar.
